EASA College of Engineering
A group of 25 students and 4 faculty members from EASA College of Engineering visited the Electronics Lab at IIT Palakkad. The visit provided the students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to the laboratory facilities and electronics-related academic activities.

Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Coimbatore
The EEE Department faculty members of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET), Coimbatore, visited the Electrical Department laboratories at IIT Palakkad on 18th May 2026. The visit provided an opportunity for academic interaction and familiarization with the laboratory facilities of the department.

Science Quest 2026
As part of the annual residential science camp, ‘Science Quest: Continuing the Journey with Valsa,’ organized in memory of Prof. M.C. Valsakumar, selected participants visited the Electrical Engineering Department laboratories at IIT Palakkad. The visit provided the students with exposure to laboratory facilities and engineering applications.

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology
Faculty members from KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology visited the General Electronics Lab and Microwave Lab at IIT Palakkad on 13th May 2026. The visit provided an opportunity to interact with the laboratory staff and gain an overview of the facilities and activities of the laboratories.

AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Program on Robotics
As part of the AICTE-QIP-PG Certificate Program on Robotics, 27 faculty members from across India visited the Electronics Lab at IIT Palakkad. Laboratory activities were conducted for the participants during the program from 9th June to 19th June 2026, providing them with practical exposure to electronics laboratory facilities and related activities.

AICTE PG Certification Program 2026
As part of the AICTE PG Certification Program 2026, 29 faculty members from across India visited the Control Engineering Lab at IIT Palakkad from 1st June to 12th June 2026. The laboratory activities provided the participants with practical exposure to control engineering laboratory facilities and experiments.

27 Sep 2025POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED
The Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Palakkad, organized an industrial visit to the POWER GRID CORPORATION OF INDIA LIMITED 400/220kV Palakkad Substation on 27th September 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Manas Kumar Jena. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to high-voltage transmission operations and covered key areas such as the substation layout, 400kV and 220kV yards, 500 MVA transformer, fire-fighting systems, and the Control Room with its SCADA-based monitoring. Students also gained valuable insights into various protection relay schemes used for transformers and feeders, highlighting the importance of grid stability and equipment security. Adhering to all safety protocols, the participants benefited greatly from this informative experience, and the department extends sincere gratitude to POWERGRID management and staff for their support. The visit was accompanied by Dr. Manas Kumar Jena, Dr. Anirudh Guha, Dr. Arun Rahul S, Mr. Sanil Sharahudeen and Mr. Sivaseelan.

The technical delegation team from CSIR–NAL, Bengaluru, visited IIT Palakkad on 12th August 2025 to explore collaboration opportunities. They visited the Electrical Machines and Power Systems laboratories. Dr. Arun Rahul S, faculty in charge, assisted the visit along with his PhD students and staff members.

A group of 50 students from Viveham Schools, Dharapuram, visited the Electrical Machines and Power Systems Laboratory on 6th August 2025. The visit introduced students to core laboratory infrastructure and ongoing research themes, encouraging early engagement with electrical engineering.
