The MS in Electrical Engineering is an entry-level program which is targeted at motivated engineering graduates who wish to pursue a research degree. A rigorous coursework is prescribed to complement the research focus.Funded projects undertaken by diverse faculty members offer students with relevant research challenges to work on. The institution provides a stimulating research environment to inspire research students to pursue careers in research, academia, and industry. The research student community is highly active and enthusiastic to interact with peers at all levels in order to broaden their skills. Students are also encouraged to publish papers in national and international journals and conferences. The programme emphasises each student's aspirations, which is accomplished through a progress tracking system. Funded projects obtained by diverse faculty members present students with pertinent research challenges to work on.

The EE has eight broad areas as follows:

  1. Biomedical Signal Processing and Imaging
  2. Communication and Signal Processing
  3. Control and robotics
  4. Digital VLSI Design
  5. Nanoelectronics, Plasmonics & Semiconductor Devices
  6. Power Electronics and Power Systems
