Learning Objectives
This course provides a thorough understanding of the fundamentals, implementation, and applications of Digital Image Processing (DIP) techniques including acquisition and formation, enhancement, segmentation, and representation of images.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the merits of digital image processing (DIP) and appreciate its real-world applications.
- Explain how digital images are represented and manipulated in a computer, including reading and writing from storage, processing, and displaying the images.
- Be familiar with the mathematical description of image processing techniques and know how to go from the algorithms to implementation.
