Lab at a glance

The Electrical Machines Laboratory at IIT Palakkad houses two complementary machine platforms. The primary platform is a set of fourteen composite machine beds with an AC generator coupled to a DC machine, further coupled to another DC machine and an AC motor—enabling a wide range of experiments on a single rig. Signals are digitized and visualized via a data-acquisition card using LabVIEW. The second platform comprises two dissectible machine setups (Delorenzo) that expose internal construction and operation of various DC/AC machines for hands-on learning.
